scott g (mx) wrote: a great looking and atmoshericfilm from asia, but shot in english, with some scenes of spoken japanes, a hitman, is sent on a mission, to do a job, but feels something is not right, as he goes on his travels, events turn, and hes not sure what hes got into, the mood is great, for a long time, not knowing where this is going, the scenes on the boat are superb, setting story up, for something that may not come, and then turns into a nice revenge flick, but keeping in with mood set on ship, some funy and sureal moments keep this a entertaining watch,

Joel A (es) wrote: A strangely insightful documentary about the unbelievable fan base of the tv show My Little Pony & how the average age is 21 year old straight males. The film focuses on the carefree spirit Ashleigh Ball (Main VO Actress for My Little Pony) & her step of faith to attending the Brony Con in NYC.As strange as the subject matter & fans are of this series it has a charm to it & I found myself fascinated by this odd magical world.

Vessela D (mx) wrote: The movie was well done, the actors were great /especially Steve Carell who was simply brilliant/ but it still couldn't touch me...

Grace P (ag) wrote: Seventy-nine year old British director Ken Loach has been dealing with social issues in film since the early 1960's and JIMMY'S HALL is no exception, based on a 10 year period in the life of Jimmy Gralton, a Leitrim (County in Ireland) Socialist - the only Irishman ever deported from Ireland in 1933. The clash between the Catholic Church, intermixed with local politicians and what they considered Stalinist/Communist ideas brewing in a small village's Dance/Meeting Hall - built for the local community of farmers and laborers - teaching art, poetry, song, boxing classes, highlighting music and dance performances; a space to openly speak about landowner/working conditions.I am a sucker for a good-looking Irishman, and Barry Ward is just that; he plays Jimmy who is expressive, passionate and a stirring advocate for basic individual freedoms. We meet him in 1932, after a forced 10 year exile in NYC, returning home to work on the family's small plot of land at a "hopeful" time, a new government has come into power. Set amidst the rolling green hills of an idyllic village, Jimmy plans to settle down and help his elderly mother, a former librarian who years earlier drove around the rural area, bringing books - catalysts for ideas - to her neighbors. Life in 1932 is and is not the same - personal relationships have changed - former love interest Oonagh who fought at his side in earlier days, having not heard from him for a long time after Gralton was forced to flee Ireland in 1921, married a "solid" man from the hamlet and bore 2 children. Despite the years gone by, their deep connection has never come untethered and the tenderness between these two intense fighters for human rights is filmed in a lovely scene where they slowly move together, swaying under the pale light of unrealized dreams; fulfillment impossible.JIMMY'S HALL is a movie about the pervasive paranoia and corruption of Ireland's Government/Church partnership in maintaining "moral order" in a world that is absorbing new ideologies; where principles and tenets cannot be contained in ancestral and inbred receptacles. The community demonstrates an unrelenting courage and willingness to confront representatives of the power elite in their attempt to love, laugh, frolic, and examine doctrines that have been intrinsic to them - no longer isolated they dare to defy through unity thereby gathering courage. Director Ken Loach's radiant portrayal of Jimmy Gralton resurrects a fighter whose name was all but forgotten. The combat against a powerful, intransigent armed state in 1932 seemed desperately futile, but history has proven otherwise.

FishieLemonDude D (fr) wrote: I love Video Games since I was a kid, but when I saw this film!it blew my mind in 2012.So I don't know why they did not put Mario in this film, they put the film in 1993 with the SMB Movie which it is a failure. they had Nintendo and SEGAreferences in this film, Sonic and Bowser are in the Wreck-It Ralph film so they will make a sequel where they try to work on the Mario and Luigi Characters in it to render the models that where better, I will give this film 90% of fresh tomatoes

Tanner B (ag) wrote: -IGNORE THIS RATING4/4One of the most underrated films of all-time is really one of the best of all films. Magnificent adaption of William L. White's Novel set during WWII, of the dramatized account of the role of the American PT Boats in the defense of the Philippines during the war. Direction, acting, score, photography, screenplay, all great.

Sarah C (kr) wrote: Starts off really well with some mystery and tension but quickly descends into chaotic mess by trying to subvert its own genre too many times. The build-up to the actual plot was quite interesting but then it quickly becomes boring. The ending found me uttering the words "Oh, for god's sake ... why ..." in a really bored tone. There's nothing new to see here, move along.
