James H (ru) wrote: That rare combination of education and wonder all the while not being sure when narrater Werner Herzog is going to enter stage right and gouge out their eyes with the sunglasses everyone made fun of him for bringing. Dude's voice is scary as all get-out. In some areas of the world the mere sound of his voice is considered hate speech. And, uh, hello, narraters don't usually attend the actual filming of documentaries. The scientists and crew should have been tipped off that something was seriously "off" with him from the get-go. The eventual slaughter was brutally realistic and pushed the limits of the film's parental rating. Education, wonder, and terror. An overall pleasure.

Anders A (fr) wrote: The easy way out, the american way, take a pill and you will be insanely smart for a period. Climbing to the top of the chain, ignoring the depth and talent it takes. You may be able to cheat your way to the top, but you cant cheat a movie into a good one.

Richard S (fr) wrote: I can't tell if Majidi's latest is a mild disappointment simply because it's weaker than his earlier films (it is) or if my experiences with other, more challenging Iranian directors has made his work seem good but not great. I imagine it's a bit of both. I recall absolutely loving "Baran" and getting a lot out of his earlier child-centric work. I need to revisit all of these, but even if they don't hold up, they served as a wonderful entry point into what could otherwise have been a nigh impenetrable national cinema. His latest may be difficult to market because of the lackluster (if appropriate in the context of the film) title and the only-at-the-art-house subject matter. It's well acted and full of stereotypically beautiful Iranian photography. It veers closer to melodrama than many of its peers, but that's at least partially to be expected from Majidi. Part of my disappointment is strictly technical. Either the DVD transfer or the source print was in bad shape (burned in farsi subtitles during French dialogue, lack of much detail in landscape shots). I don't think this was merely a play on the main character's restored sight either. This is far from a bad film, but decidedly more predictable than most other Iranian films, so it would be hard to recommend to anyone other than other devotees.

Corey E (mx) wrote: Most likely, you have never heard of this movie, which is a shame. If you don't dig the shocking transformation the main character goes through, watch it for Jason Isaacs' crazy performance.

Alan G (gb) wrote: This is the rare case where the sequel to a movie is just as good as its predecessor. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return, this time joined by Joan Cusack in this adventure movie that further builds on the relationships between the toys, and introduces a whole cast of new loveable and memorable characters, such as Jessie, Bullseye and Emperor Zurg! In short, this movie is one of my favourite childhood movies, and I will always revisit it in the years to come.

Ryan A (nl) wrote: What I got to say about "Stalker" is that it's a remarkable. "This movie really delivers the intensity in a mysterious type of way that have invested on what's going to happen next." The performances by the cast is good. The directing by Marc S. Grenier really knows how to give an interesting way on how do direct and well done story. The screenplay by Micheal Rauch is great. He wrote a story-line that will make your mind think. The cinematography and score is fine. "I got to say that "Stalker" by watching it really gave me the chills and made me petrified as well. But I really have to say that this movie is really good mystery thriller to see."

Donnie D (es) wrote: An absolute wonderful suspense/thriller/comedy starring Chevy Chase. We're all used to seeing him play an absolute buffoon in classics like The National Lampoon & Fletch Franchises, but we've yet to see him star in more challenging roles like this one. Not filled with a lot of Chase's witty one-liners or over the top goofball stunts, this movie really made us wake up & take a harsh look at what reality would be like if we invisible to the rest of the free world...against our will. 4.23.2011 9:09pm 4.5 stars

Jake L (us) wrote: An assembly of some of TV's most popular child stars! It has Steve Urkel rapping for crying out loud! It was a riot! Now when are they going to put CLASS CRUISE out on DVD?

Deena R (jp) wrote: I watched this lesser-known Altman mindtrip last night and am still feeling the repercussions. If the haunting cinematography, warped storyline and stellar performance by Susannah York don't leave you with a feeling of discomfort and unease, the bizarro score by John Williams will. Freaky.

jay n (jp) wrote: Stock war story with the advantage of having William Holden in the lead. This is the kind of picture that was cranked out by all the studios at the time. Compactedly put together and told usually built around an established star to keep them in the spotlight while a more prestigious film was either put together or sought. Fine of it's type but that type is average.

Dan E (mx) wrote: It has action, but it's not really action-packed. It has bullets, but they don't kill. It has fight scenes, but they're executed poorly. It has no plot. However, it does have a monk.
