This is the story of Nits, a restless bum and a hopeless cynic as he returns from his journey with an obsessive intention of bringing back his ex- girlfriend and their beloved dog. She however, throws him down the drain and so he finds himself, contrary to his anti- political and anti-everything attitude, stuck on top of a tree overlooking his beloved's apartment fearlessly leading an environmental battle against real estate sharks. For once in his life, he finds some comfort by staying put. He refuses to disembark even when the bulldozers charge in. Perhaps it's because he's had enough time on the road and finally understands there's nowhere to run to and perhaps because he can't remember what he's doing up that tree in the first place.

The lesson Shelton is trying to teach is a hard one but I think he achieved it in the end hence the ending is respectfully satisfying. However one thing that bothered me was Nick's skill. Was he like a undercover spy strategist before his family was murdered or it was just within these past ten years? And why would a fellow spy rat the guy out D: tell the cops of his skills. I guess it's to move the story along but that is not cool of him.

Robert H (gb) wrote: When looked at in terms of the depiction of tactics, Zulu both suceeds and fails to capture but when seen from the aspect of the period in which is was filmed, one can truly admire the film and the grandeur it portrayed. One of the nice aspects of Zulu is seeing a very young Michael Caine in one of his earliest acting roles and possibly the film that launched him into stardom. By todays standards his performance might not seem like much but there's no dennying he does command the screen.Zulu is highly enjoyable warfare made entertainment and a recommend to any fans of the genre or classic films. Modern day audiences will likely find the pseudo violence silly, the acting stiff and the overall look of the film as being too old... but that's their loss not mine.
