Ole J (kr) wrote: Michael Moore is typically more controversial in his statements and movies, in this he is fun and have made some fun commercials for the Bush administration. But all-in-all he strives in this one to get everyone to vote in the 2008 presidential election. He fights for his believes and the democratic way, its fun, good music and lyrics, but maybe better when you are an american. Its not an awesome documentary as his earlier work, but it has humor and give some insight in the American way to vote and (maybe) be influenced to vote.Nice quotes at the end... 21 million young voters voted for Kerry ... unfortunaly, their parents voted for Bush.:D

Mike H (jp) wrote: Overwhelming enough that the filmic mistakes -- there are three shots that appear to be filmed at 15 fps by accident or as a bad experiment... and apparently all of Africa speaks perfect German -- are soon overlooked, and the psychopathery is allowed to soak in.

Nikolai E (nl) wrote: Never to my knowledge has such shoddy material been so elevated by an unassailable performance. The script is just chock-full of hackery so dense it's almost not worth describing. The war flash-back scene was probably the most offensive, born of some childish film-school whim, and then there's the overwrought longing for the innocence of youth, the endless 'key line' repetitions that just draw attention to the artifice of it all, the fact that the title comes from a throwaway line in the film in an effort to add ambiguous significance, it's really the worst of 70's pretension in one convenient package. But Lemmon, always at his best as a salesman, just keeps selling his lines. Do you want to know how good Lemmon is in this picture? It got a best screenplay Oscar nomination. (It lost to The Sting, thank God.) I don't think any other actor in the history of theater could have accomplished a feat like that.
