(au) wrote: My fave! Marlene is the perfect man eater and destroyer here. Von Sternberg was obsessed with the image of a beautiful woman as a soul stealing destroyer. Marlene by turns is sexy, petulant, childish and mocking. Combined with the LUSH photography and lighting Marlene as Concha is by turns a devil and an angel (if slightly soiled) I could watch this everyday and still love it. The scene where Concha tells Don Pasqual that he's not her husband, father or her lover and tells he has no rights to her is one of the best!
(es) wrote: This was an alright movie that starred John Cusack as a hitman hired to take a bag to a motel and stay in room 13 until Robert DeNiro's crime boss gets there. It has some interesting ideas and the acting choices were good. It was nice to see Crispin Glover do something fairly mainstream once and a while. They should never have shown what was in the bag, it would have been better had it never been revealed.
