James B (ru) wrote: An interesting retelling of the Frankenstein myth, with a rather interesting final shot, and some great actors (Joseph Cotton is always a pleasure to see, and Rosalba Neri is absolutely beautiful), but the heavy handed humanist tendencies and the dull telling of the plot make it hard for one to really like this film.

Robert K (ag) wrote: Luis Bunuel film centering on socialites at a dinner party, after which retiring to the drawing room they are unable to leave (the wait staff beat a hasty retreat earlier.) The trapped dinner party are forced to find ways to survive their cramped quarters, as food and water quickly run out, and no one on the outside can enter the premises. More than just a survival story, the film is filled with repetitive acts and religious symbolism, and as what's really going on is left up to debate, the ending is no less powerful. Recommended.

Trent R (ru) wrote: Not a major Greenstreet/Lorre pairing here, but an enjoyably propagandistic bit of intrigue with typical studio hokum depicting exotic Ankara. Keep an eye on such montages for the hand of a young Don Siegel and check out Brenda Marshall, perhaps then still actively tolerating marriage to William Holden. This is now available in an excellent transfer from Warner Archive.

Christian C (jp) wrote: Possibly one of the worst films ever made (outside of The Room or any film by Uwe Boll). In the same sense that The Room became "good" because it was so fantastically bad, this film has a charm to its amateurish acting, dead character development and absurd script writing, bad lighting, absurd character interactions, ridiculous special effects and general, inexplicable suckiness.
