Wes S (ru) wrote: Mask Maker borrows a lot of elements from better horror films, making it a dry experience with little originality. The characters are generic, but a few stand out. The gore is pretty low, as are any scares. The movie could be enjoyable, but there are better pictures that do the same thing.

Mariana A (kr) wrote: This is pretty much the Japanese version of "The Incredibly True Stories of Two Girls in Love," and, like its (close-enough) American counterpart, it's on the dumb and plotless side. Cute and charming, which redeems its viewabilty, but still lacking a strong plot.

Matt T (fr) wrote: Some of the worst atrocities in the history of mankind took place in the country of Rwanda--and in an era of high-speed communication and round the clock news, the events went almost unnoticed by the rest of the world. In only three months, one million people were brutally murdered. In the face of these unspeakable actions, inspired by his love for his family, an ordinary man summons extraordinary courage to save the lives of over a thousand helpless refugees, by granting them shelter in the hotel he manages.

Michael C (gb) wrote: Somewhat bizarre effort from Vinterberg and Von Trier that masks social commentary and haphazard messages about gun-use with a frankly silly story. Despite the heavy-handedness, it's admirably put together, with a brilliant score, and some great invention, even in the ludicrous finale.

Richard R (ru) wrote: An excellent film and better than the first

Tarawa R (au) wrote: Frankly, I'm surprised that this film's got this high a score as it has. For one, the story's got really... confusing structure, with fairly ambiguous objective and really weird way of achieving them. Secondly, Davis' character, Morgan Adams? She doesn't have the commanding aura that grabs the respect of the audience. And lastly... wow. Where did Davis learn to freerun like that? I don't recall Aveline de Grandpr run like that(kind of clumsy)... ever. Maybe it's better if she had trained with the Assassins(with Edward Kenway) for... I dunno, 5 years? Then she would be better qualified as a proper respected pirate. This movie is painful to watch, if it wasn't for the sole element of romantic-comedy.

Kyle M (jp) wrote: Before Eddie Murphy went Axel, he'd made his film debut in this other buddy cop film providing some of the film's comedy to keep the viewer satisfied - next to Nick Nolte's performance - as the nastiness kept ridiculously stalling till the payoff. Terry W (gb) wrote: Although sadly forgotten nowadays, "The Thing With Two Heads" raises a number of issues that are STILL pertinent in 2016(it's no coincidence that it came out in 1972 the same year as the notorious "Tuskegee syphilis study" became public knowledge),as Harriet Washington's "Medical Apartheid: The Dark History Of Experimentation On African Americans From Colonial Times To The Present" (Doubleday 2007) makes clear!
