Hector S (ca) wrote: i really enjoyed this movie. i think this movie should had been like part 2. makes a lot more sense that the past 3.

Jonathan L (gb) wrote: Not my favourite Barbie movie. But my kids liked it. Nice to hear Kelly Sheridan doing the voice again.

Terry R (it) wrote: Cute, sweet. Wayne laughed. Good enough for me! Isle of Man stands in for the fictional island of Hegg, ironic since the lead character is a writer and he is scolded because he never went to the island that he wrote about.

Khaled E (ca) wrote: Let's start by saying that Labaki's performance is absolutely brilliant... Other than that, the movie has a sense of "authenticity" from the very first moment to the last. My favorite 2007 movie.

Zachary S (ca) wrote: I might've missed something. maybe.

Brian M (au) wrote: Really compelling political thriller, with epic tragic aspirations. Sophisticated and complex, bringing larger-than-life leaders to a human level to examine how decisions of this magnitude are made, and what it costs those who have to make them. Very strong performances all around, particularly Sutherland, Gambon (despite accent difficulty) and Baldwin.

Terrence W (nl) wrote: Pretty much for me, if there's a guy named Dolph and his last name is Lundgren, chances are I will avoid the movie like the Bubonic Plague.

Frances H (au) wrote: The script is nothing great, the actors do their jobs, but what makes this movie is the flying Elvises or Elvi.

James C (gb) wrote: How the hell does this movie get such a high score on the RT meter?!!!

Roy C (ca) wrote: Boo, Noah Bernett only got one line.

Michael T (ag) wrote: Slow-moving with spotty humor.

Wut S (mx) wrote: A bleak, realist depiction of forsaken humanity in time of preeminent despair. Unlike war films centralized on battlefields, Fires on the Plain forefront human degradation of the defeated. This is a film that will disgust, shaken, and overwhelm. Mistrusts, isolation, disparity, dehumanization, exhaustion of moral and integrity... cowardice, illnesses, forced cannibalism.Powerful, intense.

Patrick W (jp) wrote: If you took Taken, threw in Crank, and bits of humor, along with the Bourne Identity, you'd have this movie. The plot literally drops in your lap the very second the film begins. Costner does well in his "older badass Taken guy" role. Heard is pretty forgettable as his CIA handler. Good father/daughter story and decent action saves this from a lesser rating.

Cigs J (jp) wrote: Director: Afonso Poyart. With Anthony Hopkins, Jeffrey Dean Morgan , Colin Farrel. OK it seems to be a standard police procedural with a psychic in tow (yawn). However it develops into something entirely different. Maybe that's why such renowned actors chose to be in it, they could see it was something different. It's a story about pain and morality. Maybe it gained a 26% critic rating because it did not conform to the expected format and yet 86% viewers liked it - why is that? For me it was because it opened up a deeply moral question beyond the procedural police story. And film viewers have their own strong views and personal experience on such dilemmas. It's a film that makes you actually think and ponder - isn't that a sign of a significant film?If you are witness to your loved child dying in agony of cancer in a hospital bed - would you end their misery quickly and painlessly in their last stage of morphine drip, if it was within your power? This is the everyday dilemma of mercy killing and the law is pretty clear on that. Now move on a step - what if someone could foresee with certainty that a person is going to be suffering a slow agonising death and just before the symptoms appear, they are killed expertly before they know it?The thing against the premise of the film is that the victims had no choice - but what if they were made aware and were allowed to choose the next few months of life left to them.Is he a serial killer or an angel of mercy? An excellent film.
