Garrett S (nl) wrote: Tying in nicely to the original and with a better camera setup. this film was not as terrifying as the first one but still provides enough creepy moments to be a respectable entry to the franchise. 3.6/5

Kyle A (us) wrote: I wrote an awesome long review, but then flixster decided not to save it. So basically this is why "Tropical Malady" surprised the hell out of me, in a good way. Every single frame of this movie is deep and resonate. There are times when the film is a bit slow, but instead of thinking about something else in these moments, the cinematography kept me watching it. For me the in-between moments like these were hypnotic. Eventually I came to, and each time I did I received a great story. There are two stories in "T.M.", both seemingly different from one another. I'm not going to talk about each story, because I'm sick of re-writing what I wrote, but I will say this: if you're paying attention, the two stories connections are an experience of joy in and amongst themselves. It's euphoric thinking about the way the mundane real world and a fearful fable link together.
Christian C (ru) wrote: Sadly, the poster is the best thing about this movie. Low quality film, awful lighting, unappealing characters and almost nonexistent sound editing make this film hard to watch. The film thinks it's more profound than it is and comes off like the brainiac you knew in junior high lecturing you for 90-plus minutes on his thoughts about unremarkable topics.

Christopher Lambert is a toally believeable Tarzan and Ian Holm perfect as the abandoned explorer/mentor, Despite the 'extended' versions released over the years, I still feel there is much that was edited out of this production. The ultra-extended Blu-Ray should reveal all!

Paul E (ca) wrote: Slow start. Then plenty of action. Good car chase. But a confusing number of bad and good guys made for a poor script. On the plus side, it was nice to see such a movie made in Spain with different Spanish scenes, rather than the same old USA.
