A D (br) wrote: Okay - I hear about some film in the theaters of Hong Kong that's like Shrek, except it's full of karate stuff. So, I go see what its all about. Well, I don't know what's Shrek got to do with it, but the fight stuff does have IMPACT! Damn - I've played video games before, but I don't see any moves like they got on this film. You have to give it to them people in Hong Kong, they sure know how to do them fight moves for films, even when its a cartoon!

William L (fr) wrote: Surprisingly, this Shinji-external perception of the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" conclusion is almost as unsatisfying as its series counterpart, playing like a philosophical text as it moves between its ideas with a great amount of abstract depth, paralleled by a plot which leaves behind many loose ends and concludes with a confounding lack of closure in its despairing, anti-climactic ending. What makes "The End of Evangelion" perhaps one of the greatest, or at least noteworthy pieces in anime history, is that it turns the above aspects--faults in most's eyes--into immense strengths. Concluding a fairly straightforward series on a mind-blowing, provocative and insightful note, "The End of Evangelion" leaves the viewer mentally and emotionally decomposed, as well as pleasantly disappointed by its lack of closure. In addition to visual extravagance and overwhelming writing, the film will undoubtedly leave behind an overflow of replay and discussion value, and so it is advised that one should view this film immediately after completing the series, and with at least one friend.

X T (ca) wrote: An unclassifiable experimental documentary, it's basically a series of repeating images and footage of Greek, Egyptian ruins, bull fights, and other random images with seemingly no connection between them. The voiceover is sparse by mysterious and poetic, obsessed with memory. If it's comparable to anything, it's like Lucifer Rising with a narration by Resnais or Marker, but one that is much more abstract. Godard was inspired by this film when he made Le Mepris, as evidenced by the interludes of statues in that film.

Dillon L (it) wrote: This is a pretty funny Marx Brothers movie. Maybe not as good as say, Duck Soup or A Night at the Opera, but still worthwhile. Harpo never gets old.

Alfredo S (it) wrote: Super Mario Bros demonstrates that some videogames should stay as videogames, and not get turn into gritty, incoherent, and campy live-action movies.
