(de) wrote: Kevin James is a likeable comedic personality that's perfect for a 30 minute TV sitcom or as a supporting player in an ensemble comedy, but I'm not sure he can carry a full length feature on his own. That being said, this movie has some humorous moments but I didn't laugh out loud at all. Also, actress Jayma Mays is a dead ringer for Anna Ferris, who I think would have been better in this part..

(ru) wrote: This is a good movie. I recently became fascinated with the Cold War and wanted to see how it affected popular culture at the time. I read the James Bond series and watched a helluva-lotta movies. "Seven Days In May" stood out because of the performances. There's no melodrama here. Every character considers every word he says, because one slip could cost him his career or his life. The even, measured conversations that are basically all the movie is do a great job of building tension the further the story goes along. Kirk Douglas is great. They don't make leading men like him anymore. It's a little jingoistic at the end, but that's to be expected during this period.

Night Shyamalan with a bit of David Lynch thrown in for good measure, and it definitely has the latter's touch when it comes to the WTF ending. Can't say I'm a fan of this, but I've seen worse.
