(it) wrote: 9 levels of power! The movie start off with an action scene that isn?t action packed, but about 15 minutes long, longer than the roadside action scene in T3 (I think), and has 1. a great chase over a waterfall. 2. dual near-syncronized death throes. 3. the worst looking severed head ever. But it all makes sense in the conclusion of the scene. And it is continually electronically scored like most 80?s movies! Does that sound like praise? Well, it?s more like awe. This is pure 80?s cheesy action. And you gotta take it for what it is.I saw a bunch of these old Cannon films when I was a kid. Whenever my dad came around, he would take me to see these action movies that were fairly inappropriate for very young kids. Between my dad?s love of action movies and my mom?s love of scary movies, I could have been a really messed up adult, but I?m only semi-messed up. This movie brings back memories and I now realize why my Dad liked this enough to take me to the other Ninja series movies, it took place in the Philippines. I don?t believe the others did though. And this movie has the lady from Straw Dogs in it, what happened to her. She should have been a big star. I guess I can look it up, I?m online. As for this movie. A great bad movie. Definitely worth the mid-point rating.

The movie itself is good, but is overshadowed by the great performance of Jack Nicholson. It has a few pacing issues and many annoying characters, in particular some hitchhikers that will not stop talking, but is worth a watch to see Nicholson do his thing.4 Beards Out Of 5

(ca) wrote: So of the space movies I've recently watched this was by far the best. Of no coincidence, it was also the most (seemingly) plausible... EXCEPT for the sheer idiocy of the characters involved and the choices being made in such high risk circumstances. I recognize that a movie needs surprises and danger to raise tension and create entertaining drama, but could the writers not be creative enough to create that drama in spite of them being cautious, weighing risks, and not doing practices with so very little thought to consequence?! Who goes out of a ship with a tether to another man, BUT NOT TO THE SHIP!? At least had they had some sort of propulsion system, that might have made sense, but just going out there, and if you slip, well , sucks to be you?! Doubtful. I could go on and on... In any case, we won't find life on Europa just because there's water even if there's heat. Life takes more than that even in a make-believe evolutionary system. And certainly nothing as sophisticated as what they encountered... Nevertheless, this movie showed us why Blair Witch type films are earldom enjoyable... not enough cameras. This was actually able to tell a story and tell it interestingly due to the many angles. Well done.

(jp) wrote: 82%Saw this on 4/7/15At least here the local Indians don't speak English. Million Dollar Arm is the best western depiction of India that I have seen, neither too violent as in Slumdog Millionaire nor too preachy and innocent as in many other English adaptations. The film benefits from strong cinematography, great cast and the fact that it's a true story. Well I never heard anything about a Million Dollar arm contest held in India. It's only fault is that it's a Disney film, viewers are automatically bound to expect a silly preachy film when it comes from the famous PG-13 loving studio. It rides up and down in a lot of cliches though, well if you don't mind that, then this is clearly enjoyable.
