Jordan P (kr) wrote: Though guilty of relying on countless haunted house clichs, The Conjuring balances its lack of originality with an enjoyably light touch, delivering a beautifully filmed thrill ride loaded with bone-chilling scares, thrillingly exuberant direction and an irresistible excess of heart.

P H (ag) wrote: This doesnt have the greatest choreography, but what it lacks in choreography it makes up in pure violence and Sonny Chiba being a crazy badass mofo! This movie is brutal and just damn fun to watch.

John A (jp) wrote: Director Bob Logan Took The Exorcist & Tried To Make It Fun In This Disaster Of A Spoof. Lacking The Comedy Style Of The ZAZ Team. In 1973 Nancy Was Possessed As A Teen & Father Mayii Saved Her Soul. Now It's 1990 & Nancy Is About To Become Repossessed. The Direction Was Strangely Decent, But The Film Lacks In Jokes, Script & Acting. The Only Scene I Found Enjoyable Was The Exorcism Scene At The End Of The Movie As It Tries It's Hardest With Bad Jokes, Worth Seeing That In My Opinion.

Davey M (it) wrote: The story maybe bites off more than it can chew (Capra lamented the fact that they never could find quite the right ending), but, in many ways, in spite of (or, more likely, because) it's a little rougher around the edges than "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" or "It's a Wonderful Life," this almost seems like the quintessential Capra, with all of his ideals and concerns up there on the screen, fighting for a satisfying resolution that's just out of reach. As always with Capra, the film is warm, entertaining, funny, moving, and compelling, and it's also pretty dark. Stanwyck is the force of nature she always was.
