(fr) wrote: Charming and offbeat it's a romantic comedy with the best kind of quirks and dry humor. I love everything about this film and will always watch it whether I'm sad or just don't know what to do with myself. It's a comfort and a well acted attraction full of beautiful people and beautiful sights.

(kr) wrote: amazing job from the director... he somehow emphasise on the idilic bound between the romanian people and the americans, this bound being seen as a salvation but in the end we can see that it has just a shattering effect on the locals
(mx) wrote: It's often well intended and tries to be a sincerely good film, but this syrupy, sugary and overly manipulative plot makes even Cuba Gooding Jr's performance look a little decent as well as Ed Harris'. Radio fails in sugar coating a true story.
(gb) wrote: A must see exciting and entertaining action movie from the great Guillermo del Toro!
(fr) wrote: Great performances from Bridges, Tyrell, and (the criminally underrated) Keach. If any film deserves a new dvd treatment, this is it.
(kr) wrote: There were some really great scenes, especially the finale. But in some parts I couldn't help but wonder if I was even watching the same film.

She loves him so much and won't let him go no matter how much trouble he gets in, but will his ways ruin her career?"I wish you were in some kind of trouble.""Why?""So I could get you out of it."Gregory Ratoff, director of Barricade, Hotel for Women, The Men in Her Life, Irish Eyes are Smiling, Paris Underground, and The Men in Her Life, delivers Rose of Washington Square. The storyline for this picture is entertaining and fun to watch unfold but the musical numbers are a bit too long and drawn out. The acting is excellent and the cast includes Tyrone Power, Alice Faye, Al Jolson, Louis Prima, and William Frawley."How about a little snort then?"I DVR'd this picture off Turner Classic Movies (TCM) because I adore Tyrone Power. I thought this film was okay but nothing special. I adored the two main characters but found the theatre scenes overdrawn and very boring. Overall, this is worth watching once but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.Grade: C+/B-

With a religious undertone and generous use of fog and darkness, this movie is a genuinely brilliant adaptation of the favourite video game of the same name. Overall, Silent Hill is a very good movie and well worth a watch. It's certainly a movie I'll watch again.
