This ground-breaking cinema véritè classic documents five weeks in the lives of twelve children in a home for emotionally disturbed children. It is the first in the form that King later described as actuality drama. All the action is spontaneous and undi-rected, with neither interviews nor narration. The theme is the outrage of life. The children asked the filmmakers, Why is it that whenever pictures of us are put in the papers, our faces are blacked out. What is so awful about us that we cant be seen? They wanted to be filmed so that they could be seen.

It's goofy, dumb fun, and it's entertaining enough, bu the main down of this film, that I really hated, is everytime a zombie or person gets shot, it gets all CGI and shit, and the CGI in this movie is just awful, it feels like a Syfy film. They should've just stuck to the classic Romero special effects. This film also reminds me a lot of Shaun f the Dead (2004), which was a masterpiece. In you're looking for goofy and gory fun, this is the flick for you!!

(jp) wrote: It's an horrific and tragic story, but somehow made beautiful through the care and attention of Schnabel's direction and Bardem's tender, unforgettable performance.

Come on people...Vincent Price as the 'evil' Dr. Goldfoot is hilarious and at his over the top campy best. They poke some fun at some of Price's previous films and you'll also be able to see were Mike Meyers got a lot of his inspiration for the Austin Powers films. There's even a very brief cameo (in the torture chamber) by Annette Funicello.
