Anthony C (ag) wrote: The chemistry between Gyllenhaal and Ledger, as well as their characters, was phenomenal. I absolutely loved how well the story played out. Everyone played their roles quite well (as expected from an Ang Lee film), and the climactic scene was an absolute thrill. I don't watch a lot of movies, but I'm glad I watched this one.
Craig S (au) wrote: Written more like a 6 ep mini-series than a movie. The concept was depicted better than it might have been, but the overall plot falls flat.

Jim S (ru) wrote: I was thinking this was like an old US TV movie, and not a very good one, when at last we get a song around 30 mins and it became more entertaining. Perhaps it's just not my thing, and I sure lack exposure to bolllywood but I struggle to see how anyone would think this was 5* stuff.

James H (ru) wrote: Fargo is a brilliant black comedy with so many fantastically whimsical characters that I didn't know who to root for. Steve Buscemi knocks all aspects of his performance out of the park, he is menacing and hilarious at the right times and he worked well with Peter Stormare. Frances MacDormand as Margey is so damn kind in this film that you just want to give her a hug. William Macy also does some good work in the scenes that he is in. The cinematography was gorgeous, the score was delightful and there were many rememberable lines in a dynamic script. Pure Coen brothers gold here.
Travis B (kr) wrote: Great plot with an interesting twist. Still holds up after 20 years.
