They escape, along with her young charge, Enola, and sail off aboard his ship. But the trio soon becomes the target of a menacing pirate who covets the map to 'Dryland' – which is tattooed on Enola's back.

Alsea A (br) wrote: It is so pure and honest, it gives me shivers everytime i see it and jos gonzales song "lovestain" just keeps looping in my head .. Of course the plot is simple but the acting is really amazing.

Zoran S (nl) wrote: Some good performances but the script is ultimately vapid and shallow.

Chris D (it) wrote: The best rocker movie since 'This Is Spinal Tap' and the funniest Canadian duo since Hoser's Bob & Doug tried getting a free case from the local brewery by sticking a mouse in an empty bottle...it's thoroughly astonishing how divergent and funny this is, but it has its tender moments as well.

Erulisse A (jp) wrote: It might be unfair to compare the Step Up series to this... coz this one clearly doesn't match up. The characters are quite annoying, the music is mediocre and the dance routines so-so. /shrug I might have enjoyed it better if watched in 3D.

Brian M (ca) wrote: I had big hopes for Bear City. But it wasn't at all what I expected. The acting was just ok, though some roles were played better than others. I was kind of let down, as the sex scenes kind of killed it for me. I think if they had left out the rampant sex, and kept things geared more to the main role landing his daddy. I would have liked it better. The audio was kind of bad as well, as the music and the moaning was often louder then the dialog. Though they certainly cast some nice looking bearded men as extras. It had it's moments, but over all, it was just ok. As usual to many stories going on to keep track of everything.

John C (de) wrote: That's two hours I'll never get back. Yes we know that police work is rarely as exciting as it is in the movies, but where's the story? It often appears there was no writer, just a a person with a camera following police on a non-case. A story should be real and interesting with some drama and/or humor. They got the real part, but that's it. It is as real as watching paint dry or maybe watching as the artist prepares his brushes then sits and decides what to paint. Many interminable shots of people waiting, typing, reading, eating, without a close-up in the entire film. At the end there is a mild showdown between the chief and the reluctant detective as he is forced to look up words in the dictionary. The subtitles even included an exclamation point that was not even hinted at in the dialogue. The main character's wife was very pretty, but given nothing to do. The only interesting thing was a minute of "foot tennis," which is, as it sounds, tennis played with a soccer ball and one's feet. Romania, it takes more than a person with a camera to make a worthwhile film.

Paul D (gb) wrote: The make-up and costumes are perhaps the best thing about this film, which has a bit of the Stephen King about it in style. It's unworthy of that comparison to be fair as it's a very wordy and script heavy horror, and the script is not good enough to engage the audience for a short feature length, let alone nearly two hours worth.

Alex Y (it) wrote: This movie reminds me of a Wong Kar Wai film. I thought it was very interesting.

Joe B (jp) wrote: for what they had, this is pretty damn good.

Knox M (fr) wrote: Despite being the best Next Generation film, Star Trek IX is unfortunately cheap-looking and a bit strange.

Patrick W (nl) wrote: A great film! Clint does an amazing job both in front of and behind the camera in this one. A stellar cast is assembled and does David Baldacci's book (that the film is derived from) justice. Story is a career thief (Eastwood) witnesses a horrific crime during a heist involving the US President (Hackman). This one just has to be seen.

Eric H (mx) wrote: Weak film, waste of acting talent by wonderful actresses like Angela Bassett, and a brutal waste of an excellent soundtrack by Babyface.

Brendan N (jp) wrote: guilty pleasure and something that is almost considered a cult favourite. the film takes the superman title credits and ripoffs most of Star Wars. Dolph is hilariously serious in the lead role but considering the era it's not a left field casting decision.
