Fine performance from CB is the stand out, although most acting talent acquit themselves admirably despite the large ensemble meaning a few more interesting characters are denied sufficient screen time or back story.

Gene N (gb) wrote: this movie is surely a great family drama and Suraj Barjatya just made it look so great and of course how can one foreget the good looking couple Prem & Nisha portrayed by Salman Khan & Madhuri Dixit they are the bestest couple and surely this is a great movie
Rick D (mx) wrote: Oh how I wish I could give Night of Dark Shadows, the second feature film based on the 1960(TM)s television soap opera, Dark Shadows, a positive review, I really do, but truth be told, even for a hardcore Dark Shadows fan like me, the film just isn(TM)t that good. David Selby, Lara Parker and Grayson Hall, along with tons of other regular members of the soap opera cast all put in perfectly enjoyable performances, but an incredibly weak script isn(TM)t helped at all by plodding direction and bad camera work. It could be argued that the thing missing from this film is Jonathan Frid(TM)s iconic Barnabas Collins, but I have watched months of the series at a time without the famous vampire and know that the ghoulish fun of Dark Shadows can work even without its most famous cast member. Unfortunately, whatever it was that made the series as much fun as it was, is just lacking from this ponderous mess.
Art S (ag) wrote: Not sure if Seijun Suzuki was on acid or insane when he made this film. Branded to Kill is less a coherent narrative and more an opportunity for weird and audacious stylistic choices. Sure, it's about a hit-man and a bungled job but there is barely enough plot to hold onto here (don't even try!). Instead, it's best to let the cinemascope images wash over you - or arrest you. There isn't really a consistent style - pop art is what the critics say - but instead a variety of different choices: POV shots, shots from above, truly odd angles, experiments with light and darkness, odd patterns laid over the shot, large close ups, distant wide-shots, basically the whole gamut with an emphasis on weird. Obtuse sex and violence figure prominently. The problem with all this, even though it can be exhilarating, is that it is just all piled on with no attention to plot or characterization. It feels...abstract and distancing. So, in that respect, the film simply falls apart. Suzuki lost his job because of this one.
Jay B (fr) wrote: An interesting chronicling of the incarcerated life of Robert Stroud. Lancaster is great, but apparently extremely off with his portrayal.... by all accounts, Stroud was a horrid man with no remorse and who was never rehabilitated... unlike the sympathetic man immortalized here. If the film was tightened up a bit to remedy its length, it could rank a tad higher. Definitely a good watch... but most likely only once.
Raymond C (es) wrote: The concept of Asexual reproduction is interesting when Davidge(Dennis Quaid)an Earth star fighter at war with a race of Lizard like people called The Dracs crash lands after shooting down one of their fighters on an arid planet where both learn to live and help each other survive! Primitive special effects and at times High School like acting values detract slightly from what must be kind of good entertainment because I have watched 12 Times. It is like a trike that is fun to ride but you would not want your friends to catch you riding it?
