That weekend, in bars and in bedrooms, getting drunk and taking drugs, telling stories and having sex, the two men get to know each other. It is a brief encounter that will resonate throughout their lives. Saban E (br) wrote: Will this movie ever happen? Maybe when the new Spider-Man movies redo the symbiote story.

Todd S (au) wrote: Satirical in all the right places, with some perfectly punk commentary on the bliss of ignorance. Joshua Burge carries the film, completely solo on camera for long stretches of time. The hotel room-service spaghetti dinner sequence borders on physical comedy the great silent movie clowns could appreciate.

Jordan J (ru) wrote: Come on it wasn't this bad . It was the best they could do . Actually it could've been better.

Terry R (fr) wrote: Very tense (sad) story, well shot, totally believable.

John R (nl) wrote: 160116: After a long call with a friend discussing movies, life and such, decided in a drunken state to watch this film, Lord of War; or should I say War Lord? A different friend had come over earlier and we shot the shit, during which four Pilsner were consumed. Then, he left. Having had no dinner, I commenced with two day old Panago and blueberry Palmetto Moonshine. I fell asleep in the last third and had to rewind the film to get back on track. I had this movie rated at five stars. Can't say I'd go that far now, but still enjoyed. Due to the world in which we live, sadly, has lost some of its dramatic effect.

Simon G (fr) wrote: A wonderfully affecting story of a summer friendship between two girls from opposite ends of the class scale. Set in a sleepy village in the Yorkshire countryside, the film is both compelling and sweet, director Pawel Pawlikowski making excellent use of the beautiful locations, and despite being slightly predictable in terms of where the girl's friendship is heading the film is never dull due to excellent characterisation and outstanding performances from it's three central characters. A real gem.

William B (nl) wrote: Not a bad film.... Interesting to see a film about Australians and there involvement in that part of the war.

Chris B (it) wrote: "Paisan" is Roberto Rossellini's second film in his War Trilogy and is made up of six short stories of reality during the years 1943-1944 and the struggles and suffering of the Italian people under German occupation. All the shorts show of the destruction both physically and mentally for those fighting against the Germans. Most of the stories are dead serious and show the realities of war, but even the second and five stories that have some lighter and even comedy elements still show the destruction and emotional state of the people. This as well as the rest of the trilogy are essential Italian cinema and are legendary in the postwar Italian neorealist movement! Criterion's presentation is superb in view of the source material and the extensive damage that for decades made it unwatchable. Over 500 hours of MTI's digital restoration machine was needed for 265,000 individual manual fixes in order to clean up the film.

Private U (es) wrote: this is an amazing movie, to bad its not out to own. this is what movies should be like!! classic, love it, ginger rogers, and jimmy stewart are amazing actors. true chick flick.

Andy C (ru) wrote: This was released in 1932, not 1967. Consider that, then, as you watch Michel Simon set a standard for cinematic jackassery. It's pretty brilliant in that sense.

Michael T (es) wrote: Striking cinematography tied to a sometimes-tedious form of storytelling.

skylar d (de) wrote: I love this movie cause it is scary??????????????

Zachary M (br) wrote: There are books and stories and movies about Hitchcock, but the story told from a relationship we haven't seen before is great. It puts the lives and perspectives of the central characters in focus and makes for a unique and interesting telling. Everyone gives truly moving and honest portrayals of love, passion, obsession, and movie making. It doesn't quite live up to things like Ed Wood or Birdman, but it does make for a fun companion piece to them.

Matt H (it) wrote: A solid drama that just falls short of being something I can actually recommend. There's nothing wrong with the movie, besides maybe the inherent lack of chemistry between Witherspoon and Pattison. It's an atypical, typical story.
