West Side Story

In the slums of the upper West Side of Manhattan, New York, a gang of Polish-American teenagers called the Jets compete with a rival gang of recently immigrated Puerto Ricans, the Sharks, to "own" the neighborhood streets. Tensions are high between the gangs but two kids, one from each rival gang, fall in love leading to tragedy.

The tale of a turf war between rival teenage gangs in Manhattan';;s Hell';;s Kitchen and the two lovers who cross battle lines has captivated audiences for four decades. The feuding families become two warring New York City gangs- the white Jets led by Riff and the Puerto Rican Sharks, led by Bernardo. Their hatred escalates to a point where neither can coexist with any form of understanding. But when Riff';;s best friend Tony and Bernardo';;s younger sister Maria meet at a dance, no one can do anything to stop their love. . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

West Side Story torrent reviews

Robert S (kr) wrote: A very promising start, in which threads of self-actualization, media tabloidism, serial killer obsession and werewolves all seem to be coming together with a 'Network' kindof framework... that slowly collapses into a hokey, by the numbers horror film, with comic overtones that don't always gel. In a way, the werewolf transformation scene by Rob Bottin, mirrors the film's arc. It begins with a sense of frightening energy barely held in check, but as it reaches it's climax, it just ain't scary. Still, great cast.

Charlie W (jp) wrote: British horror at its best. Enough said.

Marcio S (ag) wrote: Underdevelops the main character in exchange for tedious flashbacks and a bad editing

Jet C (ru) wrote: This film is so nice!

Albertus A (ru) wrote: An interesting and daring take on the romantic comedy genre. Steve Carell and Keira Knightley both acted well and created amazing chemistry. Sadly, the direction was pretty mediocre and everything seemed a little rushed. Not to mention this trend throughout the film where things just happens for no logical reason

Komal S (fr) wrote: Dafaq!? I wanted to literally gouge my eyes out after watching this.American Pie wannabes... FAIL.

Glenda M (br) wrote: I found the story intriguing and Harrelson's performance remarkable. The back story of DC in that era reminded me that it had not come too far from Advise and Consent.

Blue S (fr) wrote: A movie about the function of memory and personality; about sadness and loss; about dreams and reality. Tsukamoto does something here that most film-makers never do, even after making dozens of films: he gives us moments of stark, transcendental beauty. This is as close to visual literature as you will ever get. Ryoko's dancing embodies the title: as a ghost of a memory that will soon fade, she suddenly lives for all that she's worth.

Frank M (gb) wrote: a bit too long, and the story lost me in the middle of it.

Jayden C (ag) wrote: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Cliff M (us) wrote: Gibson is great in this comedy western, he's both cool, witty & gullible, with brilliant supporting cast of Foster & Garner

Private U (ag) wrote: Garbage Movie... I walked out of the theater after watching the first 45 mins.. This is no Barfi or yeh jawaani hai deewani.. waste of my time and money.. do yourself a favor and recommend this movie to a enemy..

Joe E (ru) wrote: Another reviewer called "Drums" "...one of the better films about the Revolutionary War". Well, yes ... but how many films about the American Revolution can you name? I can think of only "April Morning" and ''The Crossing". (Can't count "Johnny Tremain" -- sorry.) So it's difficult to make a judgment like that, with so little to compare it to. That said, "Drums" does handle the "feel of the times" better than the others mentioned, if not the history itself -- but one must always keep in mind that films are made to make money, not to be models of historical accuracy; and on the cusp of World War II, Ford simply couldn't portray the British as villains as they were fighting for their lives against the Nazis. Which left the Indians to take the blame for pretty much everything, like so many other frontier films of that period. So, subtract a star for Native American stereotypes and historical license -- but it's still a good tale, and cinematically significant as Ford's first color film and Fonda's first major role. Recommended.

Mark F (es) wrote: I think I was a bit harsh on this when I first saw it. After a second look, yes it's still a bit obvious and generic and I'm still not a big Dunst fan, but part of the fun is that it hits all the stereotypical bases of a Wimbledon fortnight and portrays England and the English summer in the idealistic way we all would like it to be.
