Darryl S (br) wrote: Worth a rental. Ewan McGregor is always great.

Luke M (kr) wrote: We are insane pieces of meat, evidently. Svankmajer manages to take a rather typical dialectic (anarchism versus fascism) and present it in a thoughtful and visually affecting way. Also, Facebook seems to think this movie is rated 'G', which is hilarious.

Julien G (de) wrote: Du fou rire au larme, un film peu connu mais une histoire irlandaise ne pas manquer. Angelica Huston tip top

Hawk (de) wrote: This is pretty much bargan basement 90's scifi. It's the type of movie that's almost immediately forgettable even as it happens. The problem is that everything's just so generic there's nothing that makes us want to stay in this world. The scenes near the end are pretty cool, I guess but by then its really too late.

Aric F (au) wrote: This movie is 80's comic humor at its best! Equal to Transylvania 6500 and the Burbs. You just have to appreciate it for the time period. If you look too deep into the movie then you have already missed the point. Even though it failed in the box office....it is a gem from the 80's

Carlos M (gb) wrote: Beals has talent and charisma but she cannot save a paper-thin plot (full of unnecessary scenes and secondary characters) that is only an excuse for a long series of music video scenes, and the upbeat last dance scene is only there to leave us with a satisfied heart.

Steve W (mx) wrote: Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn are in top form in George Cukor's comedy about expectations when it comes to marriage. Free spirited Johnny Case is about to marry a rich woman in Linda Seton, whose father and pretty much everyone on that side of the family is skeptical. But a force of nature in Linda's sister Julie (Hepburn) enters the fray and has excellent chemistry with Johnny. Shove in some youth rebellion against a very strict and by the book father, and you get a formulaic but enjoyable screwball comedy with lots of enjoyable moments.

De K (gb) wrote: Great movie for adults. Love to see more.

FilmGrinder S (au) wrote: So Swazey hears there's a revolution going on down in Cuba, so he boogies on down to what he had mistakingly thought was a dance revolution.

Blake C (fr) wrote: Sure this movie is better than its sequel, but that's not much to brag about. This movie's plot falls through right when it starts to get good, and most of the jokes in the movie don't work at all.

Alec B (ca) wrote: Its a slow, dreamlike thriller that's brilliantly executed by David Gordon Green. The ambiguity of the ending is rather marvelous as well and Philip Glass produced a great score for the film.
