Who Can I Run To
Monica is the former lead singer of the three-girl group "Illicit" who were once an R&B powerhouse. She went on to have a less than stellar solo career but now feels there is something missing. When she reunites with her former group members, they try to show her that God is the answer to her plaguing questions and also the power in gospel music. Monica, on the verge of ending a loveless relationship, must decide if she is ready for the upheaval that her girlfriends suggest. The movie soars with love, gospel music and redemption. (br) wrote: The cinematography is that weird cheap kind that makes the movement of the actors look strange. Nevertheless, Armand Assante plays the heck out of Friedrich Nietzsche and Ben Cross plays what I'd imagine a Josef Breuer would be like. What this movie is, by the way, is a fictionalized account of what would have happened if Breuer, the forerunner to psychoanalysis, and Nietzche met. Even though it never happened, it draws parallels between the goal of psychoanalysis, freeing a patient up to realize what his or her unconscious desires are, and Nietzsche's philosophy, which is something like choosing to live one's life like every day would be repeated, daring to live one's life dangerously and boldly. Not a bad story, and really one of a kind.
(mx) wrote: The Concept of this movie is brilliant and it probably has the happiest ending I've ever seen in a movie.
(ru) wrote: The movie is OK, but the history and the music make it worth watching. If you are into the new wave movement that came out of England in the early 80s, or the birth of EDM then you need to see this movie just for it's historical significance. If neither of those genres of music interest you then you most likely will not enjoy this movie.
(br) wrote: This is a truly exceptional film and Alan Rickman & Bruce Willis are great.
(fr) wrote: I think the kingdom of the spiders was so bad. The movies storyline was awful and has no point. The camera angles looked awful and the acting was terrible. Every time the camera would cut it the actors would be in a completely new position. Kingdom of the spiders was probably the dumbest movie I've ever seen in my life. The quality of the movie was complete trash.
Macabra....
(br) wrote: Good action and a very good plot but I found it to be very boring at times, I did enjoy the twist near the end, I think the main problem is I never considered Penguin to be a great villain but if you do then you might enjoy it more than me.
(ru) wrote: Seems like they just put this movie together to make money and that was it. Predictable story line and definitely no way near as compelling as the last installments. A disappointment, don't see it.
(de) wrote: Doesn't offer anything new but it is an ample addition to the comedy genre, and after a mostly rip-roaring 91 minutes, you'll understand how the film did so well in America.
(au) wrote: Loved Kathleen Turner's gam's.
(fr) wrote: Has a sitcom feel, but Nia Vardalos's script and character make My Big Fat Greek Wedding a worthwhile rom-com
