Dan F (es) wrote: Shedding the claustrophobic intensity and mystery of its predecessor, Black Sun revels in half baked exposition from its opening reel. The silent, interdimensional phantom Nazis of the first film have been replaced with groaning, meandering zombies, and the actual characters have been replaced with generic, impatient and overtly macho squaddies who inevitably die in a range of forgettable ways. I quite like 'Outpost', it's not a perfect film but it's an effective, grim and chilling horror. Black Sun on the other hand is strewn out, boring garbage. What's worse is that it completely robs the first instalment of any mystery or gravitas.

It is very similar to American History X and This is England, all of these films gives a powerful message about our troubled society and youth in modern world.

Allan C (gb) wrote: Very likable, if lightweight, comedy about bellboy, Robert Walker, mistaking beautiful princess, Hedy Lamarr, for a maid, which charms the princess into wanting Walker as her personal assistant during her say in New York City. However, Walker has a crippled girlfriend, June Allyson, and finds himself torn between the charms of beautiful Lamarr and his wholesome, down-home girlfriend Allison. It's certainly not heavy drama, so you can guess that, SPOILER ALERT, Walker does not abandon his crippled girlfriend, but regardless of the silly plot, the characters and actors are all very likable and charming, making the film well worth watching. I've been rather obsessed with Lamarr of late, possible the most gorgeous actress of all time, but someone who has been essentially forgotten. My theory of why she's been forgotten is that she never appeared in any "classic" film. She had some good films, but none of them were ones that stood the test of time. It's as if Scarlett Johansson only starred in film of "Eight Legged Freaks" quality instead of films that will be remembered like "Lost in Translation" or "The Avengers". I'm always pleased to find films by Lamarr that are good, but sadly none of them are ever great.
