Ian H (it) wrote: I saw this in the air recently [thank you Emirates for your great selection of movies] and greatly enjoyed it.If you are looking for action, look elsewhere; this film simply documents the simple life of a village and its inhabitants, with their cares and concerns, from the view of an outsider. The part where "the Engineer" tips over a turtle onto its back, which eventually rights itself, I found powerful as a symbol of the fact life will go on as it always has, despite interruptions and interactions with those from outside.

Natalie K (ca) wrote: I really enjoyed this film. Watched it late one night on TMC. This is the first time I've noticed Guy Pearce (guess I've been under a rock or something) and he is fantastic in this movie as Drum. He's believable as the object of Evie's (Lili Taylor) obsession. He has an amazing voice and of course is beautiful to look at. Maybe I could just relate to Lili's character, with her lonely life and her fixation on Drum. I admired Evie for going after what she wanted, even though she did it in an unusual way and things didn't turn out exactly like she wanted. When I finished this movie, I wanted to watch it again.

Logan M (es) wrote: A smart and oddball romantic comedy, this product of the 80s still fits in today.

Andrew P (it) wrote: Heartbreaking film, with a wonderful performance by Sigourney Weaver

Gina W (gb) wrote: Another Pedro Almodovar movie. There are crazy characters (a very young Antonio Banderas) in a farse about love gone wild Spanish with English subtitles.

Shawn R (ru) wrote: Starts out as a good comedy, but becomes real serious later on in the movie. The ending leaves you wanting more, but at the same time makes you think.

Bleak M (it) wrote: One of my favorites. Superficial and corny -- or is it dark and tragic, as I've increasingly come to think? Never mind - Sinatra plays standards in a barroom.

Andrew U (nl) wrote: Marlene Dietrich is great in this Josef von Sternberg film that challenged sexual mores of the early 1930s and ends with great ambiguous ending.

Margaret F (au) wrote: This was the best animation I have seen in a while. All the characters are unique, very Monty Pythonesque in design and humour and a good vs evil plot that leaves you feeling great!

Hoyee L (it) wrote: This movie was HILARIOUS especially when Stifler (Scott) goes it to the closet and has sex with Jim's grandmother or when Finch and Stifler competes for the attention of Michelle's sister.

Danny R (fr) wrote: Car wash employees and a local pimp are the main focus of this outdated, overrated comedy.
