(au) wrote: Wonderful feel good movie. It's light and fun in its presentation, but reminds us of needing both a purpose and a place to belong. I didn't expect much when I threw this in, but I really enjoyed this movie.

(jp) wrote: Cameron Diaz is at her all time low here. There's Something About Mary is probably the last time Diaz was worth talking about as a decently credible actress. I'm not sure she has completely lost her touch but Bad Teacher was the epitome of easy sell turned disaster. An adult, in this case a hot blonde, who hates everyone and swears in front of kids is unquestionably a simple plot device that feeds into everyone's deep unconscious funny bone. Whether we will admit it or not, the average person loves an asshole. House, M.D. anyone? Diaz is that character and more. She hates her job, her newly single life and everyone she comes into contact with that can't satisfy her financially. All the makings for success, but Diaz goes too far. There is a fine line between pushing comedy boundaries and remaining funny vs pushing comedy boundaries and devoid of laughter. But Diaz is not all to blame as Bad Teacher tries so hard to get in a laugh that it loses itself. It doesn't deliver laughs and comes off to childish. Justin Timberlake did not mesh with the film and the chemistry between Diaz and Timberlake was really forced and made the film worse. Odd because they dated in real life. Diaz really needs to assess her career options better because BT is another check mark on the board of her dwindling filmography.

(br) wrote: Wickedly satirical stab in the back at the art world with no pretentious stone left unturned as super-serious noise musician Goldberg meets his match amongst the insufferable NY art set. Like a modern remake of Tony Hancock's The Rebel, director Parker lampoons everyone from Philip Glass to Damien Hirst whilst asking poignant questions about the meaning and understanding of art. Sure, it's a bunch of generic misconceptions and broad strokes but the destruction and disillusionment of hipsters is always delightful to watch especially when its Vinny Jones being impaled on a stuffed cow. Not a laugh-out-loud comedy but a great way to feel warm and smug for an hour and a half.

(ag) wrote: Billy Bob Thornton is the best part of this movie. The kids' acting seemed forced/unnatural at times and it was weird. It did have some pretty cool moments/scenes but I was not impressed. It's not a bad movie, just another OK one.
(it) wrote: Breathtakingly beautiful, the successor to the cult-hit Hero oozes unashamed passion and puts Hollywood's martial arts-flicks back in the shade.
(jp) wrote: 50 First Dates is another hilarious Adam Sandler movie and another romantic comedy by Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This movie is hilarious and heartwarming. I would very much suggest this movie.
(ru) wrote: Not bad at all - little known thriller with the brooding Eduardo Noriega.
(ca) wrote: The most mature of the Disney films? Well it kills off the young Simba's father halfway through, & that's very intense for a kid-friendly film.

(es) wrote: Magnetic Rose: flawless space opera/psychological thriller. Every person on Earth has to watch this! And the soundtrack is part Cowboy Beebop, part Blue Gender. Worthy of purchase. I can also see Satoshi's talent all over it. 5.0/5.0 The youtube quality does not even approach justice off the HD craftsmanship.Stink Bomb: A Neon Genesis parody?? But humourous none-the-less, also action packed. 4.25/5.0 Very unique comedy.Cannon Fodder: A visualization of the novel 1984. Or Fahrenheit 451, either dystopia[this word is triggering spellcheck?! wtf!] where ideas are controlled. 4.0/5.0Definitely could be longer and darker. But due to budget or too much subtlety on the Director's part, fails to complete the presentation.Ironically, reminds me of the Iraq War CIA propaganda. All 3 are animated, stand-alone vignettes. But 2 of them will make an anime fan out of you[be afraid!]. The last is slightly off-putting...
