Brook Y (gb) wrote: This is no "We Need To Talk About Kevin". That movie was well acting, disturbing an just plan f'd up. This movie was the perspective of the parents in the after math without seeing the crazy kid develop. The acting is just ok and maybe that's because they are sing former TV actors. It was just ok. It probably shouldn't have come out as the same year as the film with Tilda Swinton that addresses the issue much better. Plus the title doesn't make sense. At no point in the movie did I hear the mom say anything like "how could this have happened to our 'beautiful boy'". I'm not a huge fan of Maria Bello but she did a good job acting and didn't annoy me. In fact she probably kept the movie grounded from turning into a bad Lifetime Television for Women movie. Even if this movie would have come out first I didn't think the acting or story was strong enough to keep the audience engaged regardless of if you have kids or not. This movie was pretty weak. See "We Need To Talk About Kevin" - the acting is better and more ambiguous when it comes to the parents role in shaping the son for a true debate on nature v. Nuture.

Jason G (mx) wrote: Not awful, considering it's a wholly predictable, low-budget, sloppy effort.

JohnPaul V (ag) wrote: i found this movie totally fake and pretensious. the actors were annoying and the story made no sense. maybe i'm missing something, but i'm sure there are better indian movies than this.

Paavo I (mx) wrote: Miike shows an impressive arsenal of visuals in this prison-drama. But the plot is often confusing and weird just for weirdness' sake.

Robyn H (us) wrote: Ok, it's not a masterpiece but it's the best of the rest... I'll take 4 over 3 any day!

Facebook U (ca) wrote: Wonderful direction and cinematography create an incredibly effective chilling first half, which promises a bit more than the payoffs can deliver in the final act. In the end, underwhelming, but a great ride nonetheless.

Cesar J (au) wrote: I remember being scared by this film. I definitely was freaked out by the content. It's a shame, because I LOVED the original film! Yeah, the original film had dark stuff, too, but it wasn't THAT intense. This film had too much going on with much darker material, as if the whole world has gone crazy! And I don't think that's fun, especially seeing how there are many perilous scenes that nearly kill off many characters! That kind of stuff scares me in films like these, especially seeing how it was intended for kids.

victor l (ru) wrote: Boring (I mean, unwatchable) movie, from the beginning to the end. Jeremy Irons plays a tormented journalist who takes disgusting things and wants to know irrelevant stuff in order to publish. The DVD box suggests the movie is about a forbidden love between a single englishman and a married chinese woman. This could only happen during the last 15 minutes of the film.

Jamie C (gb) wrote: Well for a start you can't knock this film for being the same old action film, It stands out from the rest thanks to a great well told plot that yes is very silly but works very well, Travolta and Cage work well together and play both their parts very well good and evil, I'm not the biggest Woo fan as I always find his over the top action to just get too silly to take seriously, But it's Woos best film and will probably remain to be too, It's full of well shot action scenes that are great fun, I did feel the ending could if had an extra twist as I'm not the biggest fan of happy endings but maybe it was the right choice overall, Great entertainment from start to finish and that's all we ask for in a action film.

Cecily B (us) wrote: I am not really sure how I feel about this movie. Is it trying to teach us a lesson about humanity and hate in the world or is it trying to show boy trying to deal with the loss of his family and thinking his father is a terrorist with a cause is better then the thought of his father killing his mother for no reason... I don't know probably both. The movie is interesting, I wouldn't say its Awesome and recommend it to all my friends or anything but it had a message I guess...

Allan C (es) wrote: Pretty standard, and at times offensive, cavalry western. Is only worth watching if you're a fan of Ben Johnson.

Julie B (gb) wrote: ...I hate Shirley Temple, she has to be the most annoying child actor ever....

Gina S (ru) wrote: When a film takes place in Sarajevo during the war you already know it will be hard to watch, and this one is too without being predictable. It keeps you wondering where it's all going and believe me, Penelope's journey does not disappoint.
