Take the title of the film to heart and avoid this at all costs. One of the worst scripts I have seen to make it into production in a very long time. ludicrous. . . The minute any of these fine actors shot a scene where they are in their house and turn around to find a letter on their counter that wasn't there thirty seconds earlier and they don't call 911 instantly and rather forget this distrubing event even happened within seconds is just. I cannot begin to comprehend how a cast of veterans with amazing talent and a bunch of new stars who are now on amazing network TV shows could have fallen into such a pit of crap, as none of them should have been this desperate! Gil Bellows ("Ally McBeal"), Kim Raver ("24"), Jennifer Westfeldt ("Notes from the Underbelly"), Stacy Keach (uh, TV legend), Christian Kane ("Angel") and Gary Anthony Williams ("Boston Legal") have all proven themselves to be wonderful actors, so why any of them thought this was a good career move is beyond me. However, what is most disturbing about this horrible film is the casting. but it will certainly make anyone laugh and roll their eyes time and again, but not in a good, "Showgirls"-sorta way. . . One of the bigger wastes of cinemtaic time, "Keep Your Distance" is a completely idiotic film that has no idea if it's a thriller, a drama, a mystery or a comedy

Some men dressed like women and a bunch of different stories without any significant relation between them made me waste my money and time

ts not trying to hard and just and overall good film worth the hour and a half, and those are my favorite kind movies. Also see how some men will do anything for their friends. Lots of interesting personalities. It was actually really good

. . You don't know who to trust sometimes. . . This movie was so thrilling that I still think about it after 30 years. . . A fantastic suspensful thriller of who done it

While it's not a flawless film, I still found it to be very enjoyable, thanks to a great atmosphere and performances of admirable quality. The weird thing about the performances is that even though I couldn't understand the language, I still liked the performances, as though they seemed to speak for themselves in a very effective way. This sounds like the kind of film that I could watch if I needed a calming atmosphere. The film's soundtrack really conveys the protagonist's journey into the heart of darkness, while the film's overall atmosphere is rather calming. However, the film's biggest strength is its atmosphere and visuals. Of course, due to the language barrier, I can't exactly understand what the characters are saying, or even the narrative itself. The film's narrative and premise is quite similar to Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now (which would be released seven years later), although with seemingly minimal dialogue. This is one of those films where it's difficult to understand, and yet I find that I can enjoy this film anyway

a decent plot, a decent movie, nothing more

Perhaps the most important lesson here is that you should never adapt a book by Haruki Murakami, especially one where every single character is prone to inexplicable promiscuity and suicide. Don't get me started on Naoko's histrionic performance. If a woman just killed herself, do we really need dissonant music accompanying a 2-minute scene of a man crying? What does that exactly prove? That the scene is dramatic? Next, do not spin the camera as a character ascends a spiral staircase simply to show that you can spin cameras, and do not place your characters in beautiful scenery simply to show that you have a well-paid cinematographer. First, do not misapply Jonny Greenwood's gorgeous dramatic soundtrack to your dramatic scenes. 80% of Norwegian Wood is a lecture on how not to make a film
