Bruce B (fr) wrote: I Couldn't take anymore freaking Christmas Movies, I reached extreme burnout at 23, so I return to watching a low-budget horror flick the 13th Child which is about the Jersey Devil. Some of the special effect are great, some not, best one is at the end. The Jersey Devil is a monster that runs around the Pine Barrens of New Jersey along with the bodies disposed of by Tony Soprano. The movie itself has 2 men and a women trying to track down who is mutilating bodies in the jersey woods. Not a bad movie, a B movie for sure, worth the rent or a pawn shop pick up, awe its great to be back in real trashy movies. 3 1/2 stars

Jayna H (es) wrote: This was a really lovely film, but would have been amazing had it dug a little deeper. As it was, it felt as though the movie ended about 30 minutes too soon. Or perhaps that most of the 1hr 40 min previous had not been used to its fullest. I must point out Jack Lemmon in particular, he brought warmth and appeal as well as a dash of irreverent humor.

gerardo r (es) wrote: The quality of production, plot and acting is low, but the fun level is high. This definitely turned out to be one of those "so bad, it's fun" kind of movies. You will enjoy the earthquakes of the non-stable radioactive island, the scientific explanations for the crab creatures' mutations, the screams from terrified victims and the creature effects. You will wonder at how such creatures were operated in this low budget film and if you watch carefully at the final sequence, you will get a glimpse into the technological device used to operate the creatures ;) Russell Johnson, who later played the Professor in Gilligan's Island, has a strong supporting role in this movie. If you can, I also strongly recommend watching the movie with the commentary track in the Roger Corman's Cult Classics Triple Feature DVD. This was a fun commentary to listen to. This movie was immediately considered to be a campy film of the 1950's monster creature movies but it was part of a double feature with "Not of this Earth." People would enjoy watching and making fun of the crab movie and then would be creeped out by the successful low budget second feature. I rate movies on quality and not just enjoyment level. But I think a low rating also makes sure that the movie stands out as "best of the worst."

Scott R (es) wrote: Cher totally transforms in a truly all-time great performance, but the rest of the film is wholly unremarkable. It thinks it is making a deep statement on true love, but I don't see it.

Charlton B (kr) wrote: The beginning is slow but it mixes with the great build-up to one of the most frightening experiences I've ever seen.
