(gb) wrote: Excellent! The movie does present an interesting point of view during a war that almost no one considers: the people living in an asylum. In this case, we have a young and pretty girl that's convinced that she's Bryan Adams's girlfriend, and that has to take over the situation of all the inmates taking over the asylum, while a war's growing outside their beloved building. The script is magnificently written, with wonderful and loveable characters. The performances are convincing, and the edition and photography are great. It's a tragic and ironic tale, yet very human and sweet at the same time.
(br) wrote: The story and writing are not what make this movie partially successful. The chemistry between the actors and the charm elicited from their banter, along with some genuinely romantic moments--these made it worth sitting through. As gay film goes, it was 5-star quality. Unfortunately that's not saying much, but it's one worth enduring if you like romantic gay flicks.

(mx) wrote: Very funny and incisive parable about the middle-class Americans who aspire to be rich and beautiful, or at least look that way. ("We're staying here for the schools" :) Natasha Lyonne, Marisa Tomei and Alan Arkin are all great. Great 70s threads and pads. The vibrator scene is hysterical.
