Student of the Year is a clear example of why it should be so, be it in the its shallow plot, its nonsensical dialogue or the poor chemistry between its cast. A minute amount of credit goes to a handful of small-role actors (wish they had more screen-time) and the few good music-numbers.

Stephanie W (gb) wrote: I looked everywhere for this dvd, I found some expensive Region 1 dvds but alas my PS2 can only play Region 2's, so after a while of "Leave it for a while and somehing'll pop up" I finnaly caved and bought the VHS version from amazon xD (Ah well it only got 4 all together and VHS quality isn't as bad as I remembered, the lack of extra footage sucked a bit but it doesnt really matter) So Yeah, I liked it! The film was surprisingly amusing and sweet, well realisticly sweet anyway. Thw acting was great, the atmosphear had that crude british feel which was very effective, the french part of the story had an ever so slightly similar atmosphear which I thought was a nice touch, but the way it was shot in Paris (camera angles, colour tints etc) was really nice. The character's were more likable that I thought theyd be, and I mean that in a good way, I thought Marion would be really irritating but it turned out that Anik would be the character I disliked, not that I disliked her a great deal or anything but if I had to choose I'd say she was the most dislikable, generally; but of course me saying that just shows how good the movie was, if it evokes that type of feeling in me; Thus showing how 3D the characters are. Anyway, Nice film! a tad sexually graphic but I'm pretty neutral about that type of stuff, I dont get uncomfortable and I don't get "WOOHOO" about it, If it's inportant to the story then obviously I'll appriciate why it's there. I can't really think of a downside to the film, the only thing I can think of is maybe it could be a bit longer, It's 98 minutes long; I guess we couldve seen more of the main character's time in France but that's me trying to edt the story I guess so it doesnt really matter. Other than that I loved it, it's an interesting; well acted; well written; realistic film that may make some of it's viewers say "Hmm what if?" When thinking of thier own lives after watching this character say that about HIS. =)
Stuart M (ag) wrote: Black Sheep starts off with what could have been an outrageous black horror comedy, sadly the jokes are so hit and miss I find my self laughing out loud at some, and going 'meh' at others. This film has all of the right elements and you can tell the makers tried hard, but ultimately they run out of steam and added in plot devices which are both unnecessary and do nothing for the film. Still, this movie does has a place in the guilty pleasure box. You shouldn't like it, but some elements keep you watching.

Quinto W (jp) wrote: For a movie where defecating and masturbation have a surprising amount of screen time, this is a very whimsical and funny story about a dysfunctional family just trying to make it out alive. The script does a very good job of showing the world through the eyes of a young boy, accurately capturing the desperate nature with which we try to make sense of the world.

John W (br) wrote: Natalie McCurry is attractive, that is the one saving grace for this mess of a movie. Absurd, impossible circumstances and somehow...not one of the characters seems to recognize this. Borrowing HEAVILY from Mad Max and other pseudo-punk (think mohawks, face paint, swastikas) it sinks under the weight of its own ridiculousness.

I remember being so mesmerized by what I was watching.I've always been fascinated by this subject matter and here Christopher Nolan tackled it with such finesse and intricacy. I think I ended up watching this movie three times back to back the first time I watched it. I will forever remember this movie.
