Woman in Witness Protection

Woman in Witness Protection

In this made-in-Japan drama/comedy/gangster movie from director Juzo Itami a star actress, Biwako (played by Nobuko Miyamoto), is the sole witness to a grizzly murder. The cops persuade Biwako to play the bait to catch the killers. Two veteran detectives are assigned to protect her at all times, and as the film progresses the guardians have no choice but to deal with the overly dramatic, hilarious, and sometimes harrowing ups-and-downs of Biwako's life. Beautifully shot and dynamically structured in a way that only the Japanese are capable of, Marutai reminds us that sometimes the most loyal friendships are formed under the darkest circumstances.

Anya S (de) wrote: Jedi Junkies is almost a nightmare come to life; my whole life I've hated the Star Wars movies and all of this weird fandom that follows it. Now yes while I cannot stand how much effort is put into what they do I feel a bit of admiration for what they do. The amount of dedication and love that these people have for this group of movies is just fantastic, but you would never catch me at any of their conventions or galavanting in any of their costumes wheedling a lightsabor. This is something that I think that should be seen by anyone that is a fan or is interested in those who are utterly consumed in this fandom.

Alex W (jp) wrote: If you are really into this era of music you will appreciate this but otherwise its just to weird. I know that Ewan McGregor was supposed to be iggy pop but being the age i am i couldn't help but think kurt cobain. This movie wants to badly to be cool and tryppy half the time and biographical the other half but doesn't jump back and forth well. It also contains full numbers of music i don't care for.
