Alonso A (de) wrote: sporadically funny, but two sketches stand out, the ''What Is Sodomy?'' and the ''What Happens During Ejaculation?'', the rest have some interesting parts, but not near the humour of these two. Somewhat irregular, but overall an original and funny movie

Nick B (br) wrote: Super mega cheesy 80s sci-fi movie that was enjoyably bad. Terrible effects and the fight between swamp thing and the wolf guy was so funny.

Simon T (kr) wrote: Third slice of simian hokum. But at least it lightens up - at times you could think you were watching an episode of The Monkees - and we at last get fewer ponderous courtroom scenes and more emotional investment in the plight of the apes. Jerry Goldsmith compensates for the sometimes funereal pacing, and Roddy McDowall is better than usual as chief ape. Poor Kim Hunter - from Streetcar to this.

Eric B (jp) wrote: Too much old-fashioned romance for my tastes, but the sets and use of color are gorgeous. The film's most interesting aspect is not its unremarkable tale of a seductive, Evita Peron-like character who became a notorious scandal in Europe, but the plot's added framework: the presentation of Lola's exploits as an impossibly ornate circus show, with Peter Ustinov as the grandiloquent ringmaster. Watching Lola negotiate her way through the various shifting tableaux is what's truly dazzling.Otherwise, "Lola Montes" concentrates on frame composition and lavish sets almost to a fault. There are very few tight shots of the characters, and thus an emotional intimacy is missing. We don't connect with the players. It doesn't help that Martine Carol isn't much of an actress.

Tanner B (jp) wrote: -IGNORE THIS "OUT OF FIVE" RATING1/4Agonizing film version of Hunter S. Thomas much loved book about two buddies and their crazy trip to Vegas. Has a unique visual look, but this movie just goes on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on. Depp gives a strictly one-note performance and holds a cigarette in his mouth the entire time in this never ending acid trip; you have been warned.
