Women of Tibet: Gyalyum Chemo - The Great Mother torrent reviews

Shane W (ru) wrote: Terrible vehicle for Kevin Costner's try at being Liam Neeson. Whoever wrote this contrived pile should be put out of their misery. Not one character in it is believable. Even Hailey Steinfeld who ( If you've seen True Grit you know) is amazing, couldn't pull off a believable teenager. Kevin Costner looks like he is stoned the entire flick, which he probably was to help forget what he was doing to himself by being in this travesty. How the HELL does McG get directing jobs? His ridiculous monicker alone screams "I'm a self grandiose douche hipster wannabe". He is incapable of directing a believable scene and seems to think bigger explosions equals quality. This really is just a terrible mess of a film.

Ian G (es) wrote: Another genre picture coming from Brad Anderson who directed the Christian Bale method performance in the Machinist, Stonehearst Asylum circles around the asylum of the same name which has been unexpectedly taken over by the inmates led by Ben Kingsley, a patient who was a former doctor with various issues from his time in the service who took issues with the care they received from Michael Caine and his orderlies, and tracks the visiting Jim Sturgess who you believe to be a student doctor who arrives to finish his studies and ends up catching up on the hustle while falling in love with hysteric Kate Beckensdale. A decent cast is assembled here, a whose who of Brits that should bring the calibre of the film up a few notches, but the proceedings seems to lack a sense of spookiness and atmosphere, just almost perfunctory, and when it comes to the twist at the end whereas it might work better under more assured hands, lacked the impact that the director intended. Basic tnt weekend afternoon film watching and would be disposable not for those involved.

Ross T (us) wrote: Like the best in recent Korean cinema, No Mercy for the Rude flits between genres, successfully mixing slapstick humour and taut, serious drama in a film which is more than just a spoof of the 'cool assassin' sub-genre.It borrows numerous features from other films, the muteness of the protagonist and surrogate family remind me of Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, whilst the sharp contrast between genres that somehow still seem to mesh evokes The Host. The detail of the characters who seem simultaneously exaggerated and authentic, and the settings that are both humdrum and distinct at the same time add up to a finely crafted feature that demonstrates that South Korean cinema is still on a roll, more than ten years on.

Richard S (fr) wrote: Brilliant documentary that begins as a simple film about shark behaviour but soon turns into an investigation into illegal shark fishing as the film makers discover illegal fishing during the course of the film. Worth watching for anyone with an interest in sharks and / or conservation.

Carol H (nl) wrote: Unmemorable and mushy.

Michael L (mx) wrote: A deliciously hammy Hammer-horror-style pastiche with a great deal of spunk and inventiveness and a whole lot of tongue-in-cheek humour.

Jussi H (ag) wrote: Not bad sequel. Anjelina Jolie`s first big screen role.

Stuart K (ca) wrote: After the success of American Graffiti (1973), Universal Pictures wanted a sequel. But George Lucas had moved on to Star Wars (1977) and had no interest in directing a sequel, however he did give them a pitch for the sequel, which was subsequently turned over to Bill L. Norton (Cisco Pike (1972) and Three For The Road (1987)), it's a more experimental film than the original, and not all of it works. It follows 4 consecutive New Years Eve's. Beginning in 1964, where John Milner (Paul LeMat) is hoping to become a successful drag racer about to compete in the race of his life, and he eyes up Icelandic model Eva (Anna Bjorn). In 1965, Terry Fields (Charles Martin Smith) is fighting in Vietnam, but he's had enough of it, and he comes with a plan with how to get out of it. In 1966, Terry's ex-girlfriend Debbie Dunham (Candy Clark) is living as a hippie in San Francisco, trying to make it big as a a musician. While in 1967, Steve Bolander (Ron Howard) and his wife Lauri have a row, and they end up embroiled in a college protest against the police, and they end up getting arrested. It's a film which changes aspect ratio and filming style with each story, it's a novel idea, but the stories aren't that engaging. The 1966 bit with the split screen editing does cause a headache after a while, but the music is good, shame about the plots.

Kris W (es) wrote: "What this film exposes about undercover vice cops can't be seen on your television set....only at a movie theatre!" Two wacky, cynical Los Angeles vice cops (Gould and Blake) are forced to bust small-time drug addicts and hookers because their superiors are being paid off by the big guys. Good 70's cop movie, unfortunately came out after and is overshadowed by the far superior French Connection. Also stars Allen Garfield as the head bad guy, Sid Haig as his enforcer, and Michael Lerner as a seedy store owner. Huge Black Man: [while beating Keneely with brass knuckles] Hello, Keneely. You know what, Keneely? I gotta message for you, from my friend. He says: Shazam! That's all; Shazam. Can you dig it? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vice Detective Michael Keneely: Wouldn't you think the man would've at least had the decency to stay for the sermon? Vice Detective Patrick Farrel: The Lord's gonna smoke his ass! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vice Detective Michael Keneely: "Dear Mom and Dad. How are you? I am just swell. A fag ate my leg."

Shaun T (br) wrote: Classic Jimmy Stewart flick filmed a year after It's a Wonderful Life. Playing a newspaper reporter who tries to free an innocent man from jail, Stewart interviews dozens of witnesses without taking a singe note! Remarkable memory!

Andruw F (br) wrote: They tried. Mike Epps steals the show. But aside from that, nothing else is good, with the exception of some alright but unrealistic action, and pretty good CGI and monsters. And having someone else direct was helpful because the dark dreary tone was present for most of the movie, and it definitely helped. The best this could be is a guilty pleasure.

Scott R (mx) wrote: Because Trevor said so. I saw this because I was intrigued by the plot. It turned out to be a let down.
