Carlos M (us) wrote: A compelling drama that relies on the charisma of its two main characters and the way they deal with a delicate situation, but it leaves some loose ends and tries too obviously to make a statement, ending on a rather frustrating, optimistic note.

Dann M (au) wrote: With an all-star cast that includes John Candy, James Belushi, Cybill Shepherd, Sean Young, and Richard Lewis, Once Upon a Crime is a farcical comedy that delivers some good laughs. The story follows a group of strangers in Monte Carlo that accidentally become involved in the murder of a wealthy widow. The plot is a bit thin, but the characters are interesting and the comedy keeps the film moving. However, by the end the characters have all been played out and the story becomes tiresome. While no one's at their best in Once Upon a Crime, it's still entertaining and fun (for the most part).

Adam P (br) wrote: I first saw this when I was a kid and just re-watched it. Sure it's dated but Peter Finch delivers an excellent performance as ambitious Labour MP Johnnie Byrne who drifts through disillusion, rebellion and new love to finally achieve his ambition. Well worth 90 minutes or so of your time.

Jeff B (br) wrote: Pointless sequel to a silly 50s B-Movie that takes almost an hour for the creature to start his "revenge." Very similar to "Jaws 3-D" in a lot of aspects, including terribleness.
