Andy is unbelievably terrible for most of it (such a clueless milquetoast, even for an eight-year-old) but Hicks and Sarandon are both very decent and the ill-fated Dinah Manoff as sassy BFF is a standout. In retrospect the wedding of Brad Dourif's fantastic vocal talents with Chucky's excellent SFX seems close to genius. Nothing beats the swift transformation of the doll from a cooing mass-market toy of unbelievable blandness (clearly based on The Get Along Gang and suchlike 80's rubbish) to the grinning, sneering gargoyle spitting out Dourif's rancid lines. Making Chucky permanently scarred and ugly in later films dissipated that contrast, which forms the best central idea of the first movie.

Buggy B (gb) wrote: Well I didn't hate this, it was pretty interesting actually, especially the early years of Anna before she became tabloid fodder. Anna was one of those celebrities who was always all over the news and gossip mags, so that even if you didn't want to know, you knew what she was up to. On that note this made watching "the story of her life" more interesting because I remember the headlines. Surprisingly this does not go into the media shit storm that followed after her death when everyone was laying claim to being the baby daddy. Martin Landau is excellent as her older billionaire husband "Paw Paw" and the makeup people also did a great job with her ever changing weight/hair/style and wardrobe. 08.13."The life story of Anna Nicole Smith who went from a small-town Texas teen to Playboy pinup to Guess model is dramatized including her tabloid grabbing marriage to an elderly oil tycoon, Hollywood excesses and tragic death at age 39."

Cheryl L (es) wrote: Story had no real plot line so from watching the movie you don't gain any idea of why these people are being killed and tortured, making it all a bit pointless. 1 or 2 horror scenes were slightly gory but that was about it. Overall a poor movie.

Ben F (ru) wrote: "Off Limits" was a very entertaining, suspenseful, and all around fun action packed mystery. This movie truly kept me on the edge of my seat, and both Willem Dafoe and Gregory Hines were great in this movie. Basically Dafoe and Hines play Army police officers during the Vietnam War in Saigon. A murder of a prostitute takes place, and the two cops find out that it's related to similar murders at different times, and the person who killed these women is high-ranking. So the whole film is like "catch the bad guy" and in this film it works very well. It was just really fun to watch these two actors try to solve the mystery. Some scenes are a little ridiculous in the drama, for instance some co-stars might have really atrocious acting skills, but other than that everything was alright in the acting department. Basically what I'm saying is, that Dafoe and Hines were great, but it was a tossup for the rest of the cast. I really liked the action in this film. A lot of the car chases and what have you, are filmed extremely well. The camera is placed perfectly in a lot of these scenes, making it easy for me to stay attentive, and have a lot of fun with it at the same time. This mixed in with some good dialogue from Dafoe and Hines (not the ridiculous lines by the rest of the cast..) made the movie very entertaining for me. So all in all, "Off Limits" was a pretty good movie. There were a couple of ridiculous moments, and some really cheesy moments, but overall the film kept me entertained, and I had a fun time with the chemistry of the characters.
