Kostas S (jp) wrote: Obviously very cheaply made but effective.

Bradley H (kr) wrote: Phenomenal drama about real people instead of the unreal things that usually happen to people in the movies. The characters are observed like objects in a museum which, given the subject matter, is inspired.

Addison L (us) wrote: holy crap i remember this and the fact that i didnt even like it that much when it came out

Juliano R (nl) wrote: I really expected more. It is violent, disgusting, sick, sooo sick. But something is missing. Maybe it is because I watched the censored version, which make me lose a close up of the face of Kai after he eye-gouged his bosses girlfriend. But still, the flix is good and sooo sick.

Rochelle B (de) wrote: I watched this movie 3 times so far. It's so well written and Gerard Depardieu's performance is spectacular as usual. I can't say too much more about it because I wouldn't want to give the twisted ending away

Michael W (au) wrote: Rugged cop with history of rough tactics inadvertantly kills a hood using his strong-armed approach and ensues a cover-up. Not my favourite film noir but entertaining and hard-edged. Great opening, with film credits written in chalk on the sidewalk.

Hannah M (jp) wrote: I never quite know what to do with movies like this. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, but I didn't find myself interested in the story even once and find myself, just moments after finishing it, struggling to remember the main events of the movie. I have to work extra hard to be interested in war movies... and John Wayne... and this movie definitely didn't make it easy for me. I feel bad assigning a star rating to it because I have a feeling it's probably much better than I felt it was, but, man, did I fight to get into this. No "Best Part/Worst Part" here because I can honestly remember so little of it. A movie I forget immediately after it ends just doesn't work for me.

Eric H (fr) wrote: I loved this film. This is an important film but one that I would recommend mostly to people who already love silents. They will enjoy it considerably. However, for people not accustomed to and appreciative of the silents, it's probably one to hold off on--as you may be too quick to dismiss it because of the preachy plot and one-dimensional characters. For 1920, it was quite the accomplishment.

Marcus W (ru) wrote: Considering the talent involved, the level of amateurish ineptitude is staggering.

Dave R (ru) wrote: the first christopher walken movie i ever saw as a kid - i still like it. the story: when precious mineral deposits are discovered in a west african nation british interests arrange a coup - led by walken - to acquire the mining rights. however, things don't go as planned.the thing i really like about this movie is it's realism. the planning and execution of the operation don't seem unrealistic to me. (i read another review here complaining about the final assault being "quite brief". well... real battles often are.)

Joel A (fr) wrote: An intense & powerful drama about an aspiring actress who finds s stray white dog that is not just a term for its colour but a term for a Dog trained to maul & kill black people by a white extremist owner.A seasoned black trainer decides to rehabilitate the dog despite its vicious nature & obsession to attack any black in sight.A very thought provoking film where the dog is the lead actors & the other actors support its story, a terrific drama from master director Samuel Fuller.
