Trevor H (gb) wrote: I was disappointed by this film. I feel that Beauvois lingered too long, and repeatedly, on the daily prayers in the Abbey. However, I found the cinematography to be a delight and the depiction of the dilemma and struggle the monks faced to be moving and sad. I would have liked Beauvois to have built the relationship between the Abbey and the village in a deeper way.
