(ru) wrote: I don't know why the critical responses are so mean like that... Jim Carrey's funny acting and smart script are both the best elements of this film, made Bruce Almighty a hilarious movie for all-ages.
(kr) wrote: Sure, we've seen this movie before. But that doesn't mean it's not bad. This movie got zero attention when it debuted and still hasn't received much attention. And that's a shame, a solid script and good performances make this story of friendship that much better as they deal with the growing threat of an all out mob war in Brooklyn during the 80s. For fans of Goodfellas, here's one for you. Is it at that caliber? Goodness no. But none the less, a good film to watch.
(es) wrote: The reason I watched this was for Peter Falk. The magazine said that he does a good job in the role so I had to see it. He does play the role well. I initially thought maybe there was too little of him but then with regards to the plot he does what is necessary. I thought I'd just see Columbo, but as it was he just had one 'Columbo' moment with his mannerisms. The film was quite tense overall and well cast. I wanted to know a couple of things which were never elaborated on and in the end not essential to the plot. Good film. Entertaining.
(de) wrote: Low budget, with fair acting. The screenplay doesn't ring true, therefore the story really isn't convincing. The score is poor and distracting, it seems more appropriate for a sci-fi film. Amateurish.
(ag) wrote: THIS IS THE WORST MOVIE EVER! At least it's better then "A Car's Life: Sparky's big adventure" and all the other sparkplug movies but still! SCREW FOODFIGHT!
(br) wrote: Really, really nice.
(ca) wrote: This is not a great movie, but I would have to classify it as highly enjoyable. Michael J. Fox is just one of those actors who makes you enjoy the film, just for him being in the film. I must say the highlight of this movie for me would be the late great Phil Hartman. His "Frank" character is just a perfect Phil Hartman character. Anyway, I would not say make this a priority to see, but if you happen to catch it on t.v., it would at least be amusing. Let's call it a "lazy Sunday" kind of film.
(nl) wrote: It's childish and dopey, but I have a thing for cheap 80's movies. They have a sense of magic that I can't quite put my finger on.
(nl) wrote: Though I will not try to rate or say I like this film, you have to admit this is propaganda at it's highest level. Th cinematography is outstanding. Contains some of the most ominous and frightening images I've seen.
(ru) wrote: Back on track from the previous Beneath The Planet Of The Apes blunder and more on par with the first movie only now it's the apes who are treated badly. The more things change...
(br) wrote: I'm not a fan of The Smurfs and their annoying singing , but the movie surprised me. I thought it woykd be corny and cheap but it was actually good and funny. Will Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays were the perfect couple. Nice and perfect animation to bring the smurfs to life. So for this being one good animation movie that my brother and I enjoyed, and for bringing the smurfs to life after seeing them in cartoons, I give " The Smurfs " a B-.
